This compound is a hindered phenolic antioxidant belonging to the hydrazide class. It contains two sterically protected phenolic hydroxyl groups and a hydrazide linkage which provide strong resistance against oxidation. The bulky tert-butyl groups improve radical stability and prevent polymer chain degradation. It appears as a white to off-white crystalline powder with good compatibility in many organic substrates.
