Application
Ammonium thiocyanate may be used in the synthesis of the following Substituted 2-aminothiazole derivatives by reacting with [10]-halo ketone carbonyls in the presence of N-methylimidazole. Thiiranes from corresponding oxiranes in the presence of lithium tetrafluoroborate.Thiiranes from corresponding oxiranes in the presence of lithium tetrafluoroborate. Applied in the formation of novel two-dimensional Cd-SCN coordination solids with unusual and tailorable checkerboard- or herringbone-patterned structures these structures are important steps toward technologically useful materials.
