Purpose
Inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding penicillin-binding proteins disrupting peptidoglycan cross-linking leading to bactericidal activity against growing bacteria.

Cefradine (CHNOS MW 349.40 gmol) is a first-generation semisynthetic cephalosporin antibiotic featuring a -lactam ring fused to a dihydrothiazine ring with a 3-methyl substituent and 7-(D--amino-14-cyclohexadienylacetamido) side chain appearing as white crystalline powder with mp 140-142C (dec).
