Application
Chromium(III) oxide (Cr2O3) has been used as a standard for the determination of chromium content in cattle feces by employing different digestion techniques.1 It has also been employed as a digestibility marker in a study. Used in a solid-state reaction to form the new ternary oxide CrVMoO7 which should find application in selective oxidation. Its crystal structure was also determined. Used in a solid-state reaction to form the new ternary oxide CrVMoO7 can be used in selective oxidation.
Purpose
For R&D use onlynot for drug household or other uses.
General Description
Chromium(III) oxide is also referred to as chromic oxide. It is commonly employed as a marker in various digestion assays conducted on animals. Chromium(III) oxide is mainly used as a green pigment in paints inks and ceramics. On a commercial scale it is synthesized by the reduction of sodium chromate with sulfur.
