Dimethylammonium iodide (DMAI) is used as an additive for the fabrication of perovskite-based solar cells. It improves the crystal phases and morphologies of the perovskite films which affect the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of the optoelectronic devices. The iodide and bromide based alkylated halides find applications as precursors for fabrication of perovskites for photovoltaic applications.
