General Description
EriochromeBlack T is a hydroxyl-arylazo dye and is generally supplied as a monosodium salt. This dye exists as a dark violet powder with green metallic sheen. Eriochrome Black T is soluble in water and alcohol but insoluble in common organic solvents.[6]It is mainly used as an indicator in ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) method to determine hardness of water.
