Nomega-nitro-L-arginine
Application
N-Nitro-L-arginine has been used as nitric oxide synthase (NOS) inhibitor to measure the release of nitric oxide (NO) derivatives in cytochrome c reduction assay to pretreat fiber bundles for contractile studiesas NOS inhibitor to characterize the generation of NO in Taxus yunnanensis cells as an irreversible inhibitor of the neuronal NO synthase (nNOS) to preincubate swimbladder preparations
General Description
Nitroarginine or N-nitro-L-arginine is a nitro derivative of the amino acid arginine. It is an inhibitor of nitric oxide synthase and hence a vasoconstrictor. As such it finds widespread use as a biochemical tool in the study of nitric oxide and its biological effects.
