Description
Application
PVC production- major raw material for manufacturing vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) which is used to make PVC plastic. Solvent- used for oils waxes resins and rubber. Chemical intermediate- used in producing chemicals such as ethyleneamines and chlorinated compounds. Degreasing and cleaning- formerly used in industrial cleaning processes. Laboratory use- used in organic synthesis and extraction.
Purpose
Main purposes of 12-dichloroethane- Serve as a precursor for PVC manufacturing. Dissolve organic materials in industrial processes. Support synthesis of various chemical products.
General Description
1 2-Dichloroethane is a chlorinated organic compound with the chemical formula C2H4Cl2. It is a colorless oily liquid with a sweet chloroform-like odor and is also called ethylene dichloride (EDC). Volatile and flammable liquid. Important industrial chemical intermediate. Slightly soluble in water but soluble in organic solvents. Mainly used in chemical manufacturing.
