TMB is widely used in enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs) Western blotting immunohistochemistry and other diagnostic and research applications for the sensitive detection and quantification of HRP-labeled targets.
Purpose
The purpose of TMB is to detect and measure peroxidase enzyme activity particularly horseradish peroxidase (HRP) in biochemical and immunological assays.
General Description
its main functions is a highly sensitive chromogenic substrate for peroxidase enzymes particularly horseradish peroxidase (HRP). Upon oxidation in the presence of hydrogen peroxide and peroxidase TMB produces a blue-colored product that changes to yellow after the addition of an acid stop solution enabling easy visual or spectrophotometric detection.
