Description

Application
Acrylic acid is widely used in the manufacture of superabsorbent polymers which are used in products like diapers and sanitary items. It is also used in the production of adhesives paints coatings and sealants due to its strong binding properties.

Purpose
The main purpose of acrylic acid is to act as a key raw material (monomer) in the production of polymers and copolymers. Its reactive double bond allows it to form a wide range of materials with useful properties such as flexibility adhesion.

General Description
Acrylic acid is a colorless liquid with a sharp acrid odor. It is an unsaturated carboxylic acid containing both a double bond and a carboxyl group which makes it highly reactive and suitable for polymerization. It is usually produced from propylene through oxidation.
