Description

Application
Used as a volatile buffer in HPLC and mass spectrometry in organic synthesis for amidepeptide production as a reagent in dyes antibiotics pesticides and food additives like vinegar substitutes.

Purpose
Acts as a mild acid-base salt for pH buffering in analytical chemistry and protein precipitation thermally decomposes cleanly to avoid residue in reactions requiring ammonia or acetate sources.

General Description
Ammonium acetate (NHCHCO or CHNO) is a white deliquescent crystalline solid with a slight acetic odor molecular weight of 77.08 gmol density of 1.17 gcm and melting point around 114C where it often decomposes.
