Application
Glass and ceramics- improves thermal and chemical resistance (borosilicate glass). Pharmaceuticals- mild antiseptic in eye washes and ointments. Agriculture- micronutrient (boron source) for plants. Insect control- used in pesticides for ants cockroaches etc. Flame retardants and buffer solutions.

General Description
Weak inorganic acid of boron. White crystalline solid or powder odorless. Slightly soluble in cold water (more in hot water). Mild antiseptic and low toxicity at controlled levels.
