Description

Application
Glass and ceramics- improves thermal and chemical resistance (borosilicate glass). Pharmaceuticals- mild antiseptic in eye washes and ointments. Agriculture- micronutrient (boron source) for plants. Insect control- used in pesticides for ants cockroaches etc. Flame retardants and buffer solutions.

Purpose
Acts as a weak acid and buffering agent. Provides a source of boron in industrial and agricultural uses. Enhances heat resistance and durability in materials.

General Description
Weak inorganic acid of boron. White crystalline solid or powder odorless. Slightly soluble in cold water (more in hot water). Mild antiseptic and low toxicity at controlled levels.
