Chlorotrimethylsilane (TMCS) is a colorless volatile organosilicon compound widely used as a silylating and derivatizing reagent in organic synthesis and analytical chemistry. Clear highly reactive liquid. Reacts rapidly with moisture to release hydrochloric acid (HCl). Strong pungent odor.
