Description
Application
Deuterated water is widely used as a solvent in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy as an isotopic tracer in chemical and biological research and in certain nuclear reactors as a neutron moderator and coolant.
Purpose
The purpose of deuterated water is to provide a deuterium-containing medium for scientific pharmaceutical and analytical applications where isotope labeling or reduced hydrogen interference is required.
General Description
Deuterated water (D2O) also known as heavy water is a form of water in which the hydrogen atoms are replaced by deuterium a stable isotope of hydrogen.
