Description
Application
It excels as a polar aprotic solvent in polymer processing (e.g. aramid fibers polyurethane) organic synthesis and pharmaceuticals. DMAc also aids in paint stripping ink production and reactions with organometallics.
Purpose
Its strong solvency for polarnonpolar compounds high boiling point and thermal stability make it ideal for extractions spinning fibers and stabilizing reactions.
General Description
NN-Dimethylacetamide (DMAc) is widely used to compose the solvent mixtures for cellulose. Static and dynamic light scattering studies of the cellulose dissolved in varying concentrations of DMAcLiCl mixtures have been reported.
