Application
Used in chemical manufacturing and laboratory synthesis especially for producing bromide compounds and organic bromine compounds.
Purpose
Mainly used as a strong acid and as a source of bromide ions in chemical reactions. It is also used to convert alcohols and other compounds into alkyl bromides.
