Description

Application
It is used as a reducing agent in organic synthesis for oxime formation from carbonyls deacetylation of SATA-modified proteins cleavage of certain protein cross-linkers and in photography as an antioxidant.

Purpose
Its primary purpose is to reduce metal ions convert aldehydesketones to oximes and generate free thiols from acetyl-protected sulfhydryls while producing benign byproducts like N and HO.
