Description
Application
Used as a powerful antiseptic for wounds and surgical prep. Serves as a contrast agent for X-rays and CT scans. Added to table salt (iodized salt) to prevent goiters. Used in photography LCD screen filters and animal feed. Taken as potassium iodide pills to protect the thyroid during nuclear emergencies.
