Description
Application
Wire & cable insulation compounds. Polyolefins (PE PP) EVA compounds. Rubber products and conveyor belts. Building & construction materials. Automotive interior components. Adhesives and coatings.
Purpose
Reduce flammability of materials. Suppress smoke generation during fire. Improve fire safety compliance (UL94 RoHS REACH-related applications). Replace halogen-based flame retardants in eco-friendly formulations.
General Description
Magnesium Hydroxide is a non-halogenated inorganic flame retardant additive commonly used in plastics rubber cables and construction materials. It appears as a fine white powder and works by releasing water vapor when heated which cools the material and helps suppress smoke and flame spread. White odorless inorganic powder. Environmentally friendly and halogen-free flame retardant. Also provides smoke suppression and thermal stability.
