Description

Application
n-Butanol acts as a solvent in paints coatings inks adhesives and cleaners. Its also a key intermediate for producing butyl acrylate glycol ethers plasticizers and pharmaceuticals.

Purpose
Its main purpose is providing solvency in formulations and serving as a feedstock for esters and derivatives in chemical manufacturing due to its volatility and reactivity.

General Description
n-Butanol or 1-butanol is a primary alcohol with the formula CHOH featuring a straight four-carbon chain. Its a colorless liquid with a characteristic banana-like or mildly alcoholic odor boiling at about 117C density around 0.81 gmL and limited water solubility but miscible with organic solvents.
