Description
Application
It is primarily used as a non-polar solvent for extracting vegetable oils (e.g. soybean sunflower) in adhesive formulations as a cleaning agent in labs and industry and in calibrating gas chromatography equipment.
Purpose
Its main purpose is to dissolve non-polar substances selectively due to its low polarity enabling efficient extractions degreasing and separations in chemical processes while evaporating quickly without residue.
General Description
N-Hexane is a colorless volatile flammable liquid hydrocarbon with the straight-chain formula CH(CH)CH (CH) highly non-polar with a boiling point of 69C and a characteristic gasoline-like odor.
