4-methylmorpholine is usedin the synthesis of N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide (NMMO)as an effective and inexpensive additive for highly enantioselective arylation of aryl aldehydes catalyzed by the (S)-H8-BINOL-Ti(Oi-Pr)2 complex4-Methylmorpholine can be used to synthesize N-butyl-N-methylmorpholinium bromide by reacting with bromobutane.
