General Description
Potassium iodide (KI) is an inorganic potassium salt. It has been prepared by reacting hydroiodic acid with potassium hydroxide or potassium carbonate. Alumina loaded with potassium iodide has been employed as catalyst for the preparation of biodiesel by the transesterification reaction of soybean oil with methanol.
