General Description
Pyridine (CHN) is a basic heterocyclic aromatic compound consisting of a six-membered ring with five carbon atoms and one nitrogen atom. It is a colorless to pale yellow liquid with a strong unpleasant odor and is miscible with water and most organic solvents. Pyridine is widely used as a solvent reagent and intermediate in organic synthesis. It is flammable and toxic and exposure can cause irritation to the eyes skin and respiratory system.
