Description

Application
it is primarily used in analytical chemistry and laboratory testing to detect aldehyde groups in chemical compounds and to identify aldehydes formed during certain chemical reactions.

Purpose
The purpose of this is to produce a characteristic pink or magenta color in the presence of aldehydes allowing their qualitative detection in chemical samples.

General Description
it is a chemical testing solution prepared from basic fuchsin dye also known as pararosaniline and sulphurous acid or a sulfitebisulfite solution. The reagent is initially decolorized and develops a pink or magenta color when it reacts with suitable aldehydes under appropriate test conditions.
