Application
Glass Making- The largest use it lowers the melting temperature of silica to produce common glass. Laundry & Cleaning- Acts as a detergent booster and grease cutter in household cleaners. Food Industry- Used as an acidity regulator and anti-caking agent (E500). Pool Maintenance- Used to raise pH levels in swimming pools. Dyeing- Helps dyes bond to cotton and other plant fibers (as a mordant). Paper Industry- Used in the pulping process to break down wood fibers.

Purpose
Its primary role is as a pH regulator and water softener. Neutralizes acids in industrial processes. Removes hardness (calcium and magnesium) from water to help detergents work better.

General Description
Sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) commonly known as washing soda or soda ash is a white odorless water-soluble salt. Found naturally in mineral deposits and processed from limestone and salt. Acts as a strong base in aqueous solutions.
