Description
Application
Sulfolane is widely used in the petroleum and petrochemical industries for the extraction of aromatic hydrocarbons such as benzene toluene and xylene from hydrocarbon mixtures.
Purpose
It is used as a selective solvent to separate aromatic compounds from non-aromatic hydrocarbons improving the purity and quality of the recovered products.
General Description
Sulfolane is a colorless polar organic solvent with high thermal stability and good solvent power. It is commonly used in aromatic extraction processes due to its high selectivity and low volatility.
