Application
Trimethyl orthoformate is mainly used as a reagent in the preparation of formate esters. It is also employed in the synthesis of acetals and as a precursor in the manufacturing of pharmaceutical compounds. In addition it is used in the protection of alcohols during various reactions and in the production of some specialty chemicals.
