Description
Application
1-Propanol is a linear alcohol with diverse applications. It exhibits Debye-type relaxation behavior similar to - and -relaxations in supercooled liquids has been explored as an alternative fuel for fuel cells and its biosynthesis from glucose using Escherichia coli has been proposed. It is also employed as a solvent in the synthesis of mesoporous alumina organic reactions pharmaceutical and cosmetic formulations coatings inks resins and as a cleaning or degreasing agent in laboratory and industrial settings.
Purpose
For R&D
General Description
1-Propanol is a linear alcohol that shows a Debye-type relaxation process similar to the -relaxation and Johari-Goldstein -relaxation observed in supercooled non-hydrogen-bonding liquids. It has been investigated as an alternative fuel for fuel cells and its biosynthesis from glucose using Escherichia coli has been proposed.
