Description
Application
Its widely used in fertilizers (as phosphate salts) food additives (e.g. in soft drinks for acidity) rust removers detergents and metal surface treatments. Additional roles include pharmaceuticals and water treatment.
Purpose
Its primary purpose is providing acidity and phosphate ions for reactions enabling corrosion inhibition pH adjustment and nutrient delivery in agriculture and food processing.
General Description
Phosphoric acid (HPO) is a weak triprotic inorganic acid appearing as a colorless odorless viscous liquid or white crystalline solid. It has a melting point around 42C density of about 1.88 gcm and is highly soluble in water.
