Application
(1R2R)-()-12-Diphenylethylenediamine (DPEN) is one of the widely used chiral auxiliary and ligand in the synthesis of asymmetric catalysts such as BINAPdiamine-Ru complexes for the stereoselective hydrogenation of ketones. It can be used in the preparation of monosulfonyl DPEN-salt to catalyze Michael addition of various ketones to maleimides.

General Description
12-Diphenyl-12-ethylenediamine is an organic compound with the formula H2NCHPhCHPhNH2 where Ph is C6H5 phenyl. This diamine is a precursor to a ligand for certain homogeneous hydrogenation catalysts. It can be prepared from benzil by reductive amination.
