Description
Application
IPTG is commonly used in cloning procedures that require induction of -galactosidase activity. It is used in conjunction with X-Gal or Bluo-Gal in blue-white selection of recombinant bacterial colonies that induce expression of thelacoperon inEscherichia coli.IPTG functions by binding to thelacIrepressor and altering its conformation which prevents the repression of the -galactosidase coding genelacZ.
Purpose
For R&D use onlynot for drug household or other uses.
General Description
A -Galactosidase inducer used also as an inducer for the activity of E. Coli lac operon.
