Application
Sclareol may be used as a starting material in the synthesis of ambergris fragrance chemicals such as ambraoxide ambrox methylambraoxide ambracetal ambraketal and epiambraketal.[3][4]It may also be used in the synthesis of ()-galanolactone (-)-8-epi-galanolactone and ()-labdienedial.
