Description
Application
L-Cystine has been used to prepare stock solution which in turn is utilized for determining the L-cysteine and L-cystine in pharmaceutical preparations as well as in urine samples by using spectrofluorimetric flow injection method.
Purpose
For R&D use onlynot for drug household or other uses.
General Description
Cystine is the oxidized dimer form of the amino acid cysteine and has formula (SCH2CH(NH2)CO2H)2. It is a white solid that is slightly soluble in water. It serves two biological functions a site of redox reactions and a mechanical linkage that allows proteins to retain their 3-dimensional structure.
