Description
Application
Stearic acid can undergo esterification in the presence of mesoporous solid acid catalysts to form methyl stearate.Due to its waterproof ability STA may be used to impart superhydrophobicity on various surfaces.STA may also be used in the preparation of stearic acid self-assembled monolayers.
Purpose
For R&D use onlynot for drug household or other uses.
General Description
Stearic acid (SA) is a straight chain fatty acid. It forms ordered monolayered Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films on the surface of germanium. These LB films have been investigated by Fourier transform-infrared (FTIR)-attenuated total reflection (AR) spectra.
