Description

Application
It is widely applied in soap and detergent manufacturing pulp and paper production alumina extraction from bauxite water treatment food processing (e.g. olive curing chocolate production) and as a drain cleaner or paint stripper.

Purpose
Its primary purpose is to act as a strong base for saponification pH adjustment chemical peeling neutralization of acids and extraction processes requiring high alkalinity and solubility.

General Description
Sodium hydroxide (NaOH) also known as caustic soda or lye is a white odorless deliquescent solid or colorless solution that is highly soluble in water generating significant heat upon dissolution with a melting point of 318C and boiling point of 1388C.
