Description
Application
It is primarily used as a non-polar solvent in resins paints varnishes and oil extractions as an intermediate for nylon production (e.g. caprolactam adipic acid) and in labs for chromatography and organic synthesis.
Purpose
Its main purpose is to dissolve non-polar compounds selectively due to its low polarity and evaporate cleanly facilitating extractions reactions and polymer manufacturing without leaving residues.
General Description
Cyclohexane is a colorless volatile liquid cycloalkane with the formula CH featuring six carbon atoms in a puckered chair conformation ring mild gasoline-like odor boiling point of 80.7C and high flammability.
