Application
It is administered intravenously to treat a wide range of cancers including breast cancer leukemia lymphomas sarcomas ovarian carcinoma and gastric cancer often in combination therapies like AC (Adriamycin cyclophosphamide) or CHOP regimens.

Purpose
Doxorubicin exerts cytotoxicity through DNA intercalation that inhibits topoisomerase II generates free radicals damaging DNA and membranes and induces apoptosis with dose-limited cardiotoxicity as the primary adverse effect.
