Other Notes

Formic Acid PurChrom Ultra is a high-purity volatile organic acid designed for LC-MS applications. It offers excellent solubility in water and organic solvents providing consistent pH control and low background interference. Its volatility ensures optimal compatibility with mass spectrometry detection.

Recommended products
Glycolaldehyde Dimethyl Acetal 98% Stab. With Ca 0.1% Sodium Carbonate

Application
Used as an eluent additive in LC-MS and UHPLC-MS workflows formic acid enhances ionization efficiency and peak shape for a wide range of analytes. It is ideal for bioanalytical pharmaceutical and environmental testing requiring high sensitivity and reproducibility.

Purpose
For R&D use onlynot for drug household or other uses.

General Description
Formic acid is a simple organic acid. Formate group (-COOH) plays an important role to compose the complex biomolecules (acetic acid glycine various amino acids). It exhibits high polarity and its dipole moment is 1.41Debye.It has been reported as a substiute for fuel in polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) fuel cells. Its permeation through Nafion112 and 117 membranes has been compared with that of methanol.
