Application
n-Hexane is widely used as a solvent in industrial cleaning extraction of edible oils (especially soybean) and in adhesives and rubber manufacturing. It also serves as a reference compound in chromatography and in the formulation of fuels.

General Description
n-Hexane is a clear colorless highly volatile liquid hydrocarbon with a mild gasoline-like odor. It consists of a straight-chain six-carbon alkane (CH) is non-polar and insoluble in water but readily mixes with many organic solvents. It is flammable and neurotoxic with prolonged exposure.
