Cyclohexanone may undergo asymmetric Michael addition with aryl and alkyl nitroolefins in the presence of pyrrolidine-urea based catalysts to form the corresponding adducts.[6]It may also be used in the synthesis of a wide range of compounds such as adipic acid[7] 2-(hydroxy(phenyl)methyl)cyclohexanone
